The Directorate General of Meteorology has passed the national cold and rain weather warning. The warning shared the expected weather conditions and temperature values for this week in the three major cities.
The Directorate General of Meteorology’s Analytical Forecast Center has issued warnings about the cold and rainy weather that the country will be affected this week.
“Our country is expected to be affected by the new rain system starting today in the western region,” the warning said. On the other hand, it is a country estimated to be 6 to 10 degrees below normal for the entire season.
According to the warning, precipitation expected to begin internally in the form of rain, showers, sleet and snow is expected to be strong in the north and east from the middle of the week. Precipitation is expected to occur in the form of rain and rain in the Mediterranean and eastern Black Sea coasts and southeastern Anatolia, and in the form of sleet and snow elsewhere.
The Directorate General of Meteorology shared the following information on expected weather conditions and temperature values for the three major cities this week:
Ankara: Precipitation is expected to be intermittent throughout the week, with sleet and snow falling at intervals from the evening of Wednesday, March 9, 2022 to the middle of the week. It is estimated that after Tuesday, March 8, 2022, the temperature near the seasonal normal will drop significantly and fall below the seasonal normal. In the second half of the week, daytime highs are expected to be around 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Istanbul: Precipitation seen in the form of rain or showers at intervals until the middle of the week is estimated to turn into sleet and snow at high altitudes on 09.03. Snowfall is expected to be moderate in southern Istanbul and dense in the north and highlands. Temperatures will gradually decline, but are expected to be 6-8 degrees below the seasonal normal after mid-week. In the second half of the week, daytime highs are estimated to be around 3 degrees Celsius.
Izmir: It is estimated that precipitation will be seen in the form of showers and thunderstorms until Thursday, March 10, 2022. As of Wednesday, March 9, 2022, temperatures will drop significantly (6-8 degrees Celsius), below the seasonal normals, and daytime highs are expected to reach about 6 degrees Celsius later in the week.
